Snowy Owl

Snow Owls are active during the daytime, from dawn to dusk

They have a direct, strong, and steady flight with deliberate,

powerful downstrokes and quick upstrokes. They make short flights,

close to the ground, from perch to perch, and usually perches 

on the ground or a low post. During hot weather,

they can thermoregulate by panting and spreading their wings. 

Snowy Owls are very aggressive when defending their nest. 

The snowy owl is a patient hunter that perches and waits to 

identify its prey before soaring off in pursuit. Snowy owls 

have keen eyesight and great hearing, which can help 

them find prey that is invisible under thick vegetation 

or snow cover. The owls deftly snatch their quarry with 

their sharp talons.

A snowy owl's preferred meal is lemmings—many lemmings. 

An adult may eat more than 1,600 lemmings a year, 

or three to five every day. The birds supplement their 

diet with rabbits, rodents, birds, and fish.

These magnificent owls sometimes remain year-round 

in their northern breeding grounds, but they are 

frequent migrants to Canada, the northern United States, 

Europe, and Asia. 

Real World Mermaid...

Six-year-old Milagros Cerron, who was born with 

a rare congenital problem called the "Mermaid Syndrome",

her legs (bones, muscles and arteries) were joined together.

She underwent three difficult surgeries in the last 5 years.

Cerron now always smiles and enjoys her life no matter 

how hard it was for her before the surgeries.

 

Aelita Andre Youngest Painter in The World..

Three year old Aelita Andre can't even tie her own shoe laces yet, 

but her paintings have been featured in famous art galleries,

around the world.

Young Aelita appeared in the media spotlight, last year, when she

appeared in The Age magazine. At just two years of age this 

Australian artist had her paintings exhibited in a gallery, 

in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. Reactions weren't as positive as you

might imagine, as most of the media criticized the girl's parents

for exploiting and manipulating her.

But Aelita's parents ignored malicious comments and encouraged their 

child to pursued her passion. According to her father, all they do

is encourage her every gesture, whether it be dumping an entire

can of paint on the canvas, or putting it on her clothes. 

Everything she does is original, and that's why her art is so 

highly appreciated. As for the accusations of the parents making 

money off of Aelita's artworks, they deny anything of the sort and 

claim all the money goes into a trust fund, for the artist to use 

when she's all grown up. 

And with 32 soled paintings, so far, for prices that go up to $26,000,

Aelita has raised a small fortune, most of us only dream of, 

even when were all grown up.
